The tech office & lab in Redmond, WA, serves as the headquarters for over 1,700 engineers. The site, located at the edge of the Sammamish Valley, is a beautiful 8.9-acre hillside plot covered with a mature forest containing over 100 protected trees. The design goal of the building is to remain anonymous behind a silhouette of trees, featuring simple massing and straightforward architecture. The building includes five parking levels beneath the enclosed structure, separating the ground-level entry from the office levels above and creating a 90-foot high lobby with a plywood-clad feature stair.
